Breaking News - Steve Cox is back with us!

Steve has accepted a position on our board! As many of you remember. Steve was responsible for resurrecting Agua del Pueblo from our "low-level equilibrium" way back in 1980! Steve's had quite the career since them. Here's our official announcement:

Steve Cox brings 43 years of experience in international development, human rights, social justice, and strategic management to his work on this board. Prior to his retirement in March 2018, Steve served for eight years as Vice President for Programs and Managing Director for Networks and Strategic Initiatives at the Inter-American Foundation. Steve has also held senior executive positions with the Ford Foundation, the World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, the World Resources Institute, and Acceso, a non-profit organization that he founded in Costa Rica. His career began with four years on the management team of Agua del Pueblo. He has also consulted for many other public and private international organizations. Steve has spent much of his career in residence in Latin America (Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Peru, and Guatemala), and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. In retirement, he is active in local and national politics in the Washington DC area and as a volunteer with immigrant rights organizations. His two adult daughters are active in public service careers. He has a BA in Latin American Economic Development from Berkeley and a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard.
