The Rotary Club of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, the People’s Consultants, and Agua del Pueblo invite you to our 2025 Summit from January 26 to February 2.
The trip will offer learning opportunities on rural potable water, sanitation, and economic development. We will explore community organization and engineering design issues. One goal is to encourage participation in our “Save the Lake” program. Our primary goal is to learn about the Vista Hermosa community to prepare a Rotary Global Grant proposal to help them construct a potable water and sanitation project. We plan to take no more than 12 Summiteers. Eight Rotarians and spouses have already committed to the Summit. We only have four more slots. Time is running out!
We will visit completed water projects, as well as those in the planning phases and under construction. We will also visit a coffee production facility and other projects of the San Lucas Mission.
The cost is $1,200, which includes all room, board, travel, and entertainment expenses in Guatemala. This amount does not cover international airfare. A $500 deposit is due on October 10, 2024. If the trip is canceled, the entire $500 will be refunded. The remaining balance of $700 is due on November 26, 2024. Please contact Bruce Clemens at bruce.wayne.clemens@gmail.com or (864) 423-5559 if you have any questions about the trip.
